FAIR Data Management

This page introduces all of the projects, services and resources in FAIR data management which ELIXIR-UK is involved in. We also have an ELIXIR-UK Data Management working group which brings together members working in this area.

ELIXIR-UK Projects

The ELIXIR-UK FAIR Data Stewardship Training project is funded by UKRI and led by the University of Bradford. This project will produce and deliver core training in data stewardship, as well as developing a Training Fellowship Programme with input from the Software Sustainability Institute.

InterMine is a software system that you can install on your own servers to make data available on the web. It integrates biological data sources, making it easy to query and analyse data.

RDM Platforms

CyVerse provides life scientists with powerful computational infrastructure to handle huge datasets and complex analyses, thus enabling data-driven discovery.

An ELIXIR-UK service, the SEEK platform is a web-based resource for sharing heterogeneous scientific research datasets, models or simulations, processes and research outcomes.

Bioschemas aims to improve the Findability on the Web of life sciences resources such as datasets, software, and training materials.

FAIRassist lists and describes existing resources for the assessment and/or evaluation of digital objects against the FAIR principles, which are aspirational.

A curated, informative and educational resource on data and metadata standards, inter-related to databases and data policies.

The FAIR Cookbook is a project aiming at collating protocols for making data FAIR and provide examples of IMI dataset FAIRification.

The ELIXIR Research Data Management Kit (RDMKit) has been designed to guide life scientists in their efforts to better manage their research data. ELIXIR-UK is a leading contributor to the kit.
