Bioinformatics Research Assistant

I am a bioinformatics research assistant at the University of Bradford, working on hCNVs implementations studies by wrapping tools into Galaxy and creating training materials to show how we can use them for variant analysis. I also have a role in developing ML models for biomedical data. This role allowed me to interact with ELIXIR focus groups and communities such as Human Copy Number Variation, Machine Learning, Galaxy, FAIR Training, and national communities like NorthernBUG.

Having bachelor’s and MSc degrees in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences allowed me to learn about bioinformatics at the University of Bradford as a postgraduate exchange student. I combined it with my previous knowledge to use it in my thesis to create a machine learning model to predict the off-target activities of prime editors. After graduation, I have integrated more into Bioinformatics and ML projects and worked to expand my knowledge in those fields.
