Open source metadata model and authoring tools to describe, share, and publish life science, environmental and biomedical experiments using community-defined reporting standards. This FAIR-enabling framework is embedded in other data systems, such as institute-based (e.g. USA NASA GeneLab Data Repository), global repositories (e.g. EMBL-EBI MetaboLights), and other annotation software (e.g. InterMine and FAIRDOM-SEEK)
Operating successfully since 2007, the open-source ISA metadata tracking framework facilitates the standards-compliant collection, curation, management, publication and reuse of an increasingly diverse set of life science, environmental and biomedical experiments that employ one or a combination of technologies.
ISA is used by ELIXIR Plant Sciences, Metabolomics, and Toxicology Communities. ISA partners with UK, France, EBI, Belgium, and Slovenia Nodes, which have co-developed components and are doing work around ISA parsers and validation tools in the context of data validation programs.
