Designing effective surveys for training evaluation

24 March 2025
2:00 pm
3:00 pm

This interactive workshop will focus on improving survey design for evaluating training courses. Participants will collaborate to create a shared template for high-quality, effective surveys.

Workshop goals

  • Review and analyse existing surveys (standardised or custom) used in bioinformatics/data training, including ELIXIR Europe’s guidelines.
  • Identify what works well, potential gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Develop a shared best-practices survey template for evaluating training courses.

Preparation

Before the session, please bring any surveys you currently use in your training programmes. If you have data on survey outcomes (e.g. what worked, what didn’t, and suggested improvements), that will be especially valuable.

Who should attend?

  • Training instructors and coordinators in bioinformatics, data management, computational biology
  • Anyone involved in developing or evaluating training programs
  • Those interested in refining survey methodologies and sharing best practices
