ELIXIR-UK members at the 2024 RDA Plenary

18 December 2024

LIXIR-UK members actively participated at the 2024 Research Data Alliance (RDA) Plenary, engaging in critical discussions on global research data infrastructure. The event, known for bringing together international stakeholders, provided an important platform for ELIXIR-UK to share expertise and strengthen collaborations around FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).

The UK’s lead contributor at the event was Susanna Sansone from the University of Oxford. Susanna presented key work, such as FAIRsharing and FAIRtracks, showcasing impactful tools and frameworks that support FAIR data adoption and management.

The RDA Plenary highlighted key challenges and opportunities in enabling global research communities to adopt FAIR data practices. ELIXIR-UK representatives engaged with international partners to explore strategies for improving interoperability, aligning data management frameworks, and fostering the adoption of open, collaborative solutions.

The participation of ELIXIR-UK members showcased their commitment to advancing FAIR data across scientific domains. Their contributions underscored the importance of aligning efforts across RDA and ELIXIR to build a sustainable, globally integrated data infrastructure that supports researchers and data stewards alike.
