Modern life science research relies on contributions beyond traditional publications – software, workflows, datasets, training materials and the people who develop, curate, coordinate and maintain research infrastructure. These are often not adequately recognised by existing research evaluation systems.
The Credit, Recognition and Usage Focus Group connects experts from ELIXIR Nodes, Platforms and Communities to coordinate ELIXIR-wide activities on credit, recognition and usage, align approaches and avoid duplication of effort. Its expected activities include mapping contribution and usage types across ELIXIR, developing best practice recommendations and supporting ELIXIR-led services such as APICURON and BIP! Scholar. The group also engages with external infrastructures such as OpenAIRE and ORCID.
One thing to check: the source switches between “credit, recognition and usage” and “credit, recognition and metrics”. I’ve kept each where the source uses it, but you may want the page itself to settle on one.
