EuroBioImaging's Guide to FAIR BioImage Data
This month, the RDM Club welcomes Isabel Kemmer from EuroBioImaging ERIC.
In her presentation, she will give an overview of EuroBioImaging and – after a short introduction to bioimage data – its current offerings towards image data services. In particular, she will focus on the data stewardship services that are currently being established, including guidelines for data mobilisation and management. Further, she will speak about the development of technical tools for open and preclinical data, including next-generation file formats currently being offered. An overview of the data-related European projects to which Euro-BioImaging contributes the image data perspective will also be part of the presentation.
Isabel works as the FAIR Image Data Steward at the Bio-Hub of Euro-BioImaging located at EMBL Heidelberg. She is also a member of the EOSC Task Force on FAIR Metrics and Digital Objects. In her work, she provides technical support to imaging projects for image data handling and management to increase the FAIRness of the projects. In addition, she is developing guidelines and training for FAIR data management in the bioimaging domain. She is collaborating closely with data repositories to ensure seamless mobilization of image data into the open science space.
