Introducing RO-Crate: A better way to package research data
RO-Crate is a simple way to package research data together with the information that gives it meaning – who created it, what it relates to, how it was produced, and how it can be reused. In this session, Eli Chadwick from the University of Manchester will give a layperson-friendly introduction to RO-Crate, with a focus on what its is, why it matters, and how people can start making use of it.
This will be an informal, accessible session for anyone working with research data in universities. You do not need to be coding-savvy to follow along, and the talk is designed for people who know about data but may not yet know how RO-Crate work in practice.
What to expect
The session will start with a 20–30 minute talk sharing an overview of RO-Crate and its value for research data management. After that, we will open a discussion where questions from the audience are welcome.
Who it’s for
This call is aimed at data stewards, data leads, and others supporting research data in universities.
