Research data stewardship at Sheffield and across the N8
The University of Sheffield is strengthening data stewardship across its research community through coordinated initiatives that improve visibility, recognition, and support for data professionals. Current activities include a Library-based FAIR data stewardship service pilot, mapping stewardship practices across departments, and developing evidence to support a sustainable, university-wide approach.
These efforts have led to the creation of the Sheffield Data Stewards Network and the establishment of a new N8 Data Stewards Network, connecting regional institutions and contributing to the Research Data Alliance’s Data Steward Career Tracks working group.
This session will share lessons learned, challenges encountered and future directions for data stewardship at Sheffield and across the N8 Research Partnership.
