10 September 2025

From 26–29 August 2025, Carole Goble, Joint Head of Node at ELIXIR-UK, participated in two major research data events in Aachen, Germany: the Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI 2025) and the 2nd Base4NFDI User Conference.

At CoRDI 2025, Carole chaired the track on RDM Infrastructures, which featured ELIXIR-UK-related contributions such as:

  • Two posters on ELIXIR-UK endorsed services: “mTeSS-X: A federated, FAIR-aligned platform for distributed management and exchange of training resources” and ”Flexible Metadata Structuring for Research Data Management through FAIRDOM-SEEK: Implementing tailored and complex metadata schemes in SEEK”
  • The track highlighted workflows and reproducibility, reflecting ELIXIR-UK’s work, and particularly the University of Manchester, on services including RO-Crate and WorkflowHub.

At Base4NFDI, Carole participated in the panel discussion “How to build sustainable infrastructures – lessons learnt and future perspectives”, engaging with international experts on technical and organisational approaches to research infrastructure sustainability.

These engagements underscore ELIXIR-UK’s commitment to shaping sustainable, FAIR-aligned research data infrastructure, connecting UK expertise with international stakeholders.
