ELIXIR-UK All Hands 2025
Join us in person for our national community gathering
The ELIXIR-UK All Hands Meeting is back, and this time we’re heading to Exeter! Open to all members and collaborators, this annual event is your chance to connect across roles, regions, and research domains to celebrate achievements, shape priorities, and deepen collaborations across the UK Node.
Whether you’re a seasoned contributor or new to the ELIXIR-UK community, this is the space to:
- Showcase your work, services, or tools
- Discover flexible funding opportunities and policy updates
- Meet peers working on similar challenges from RDM and training to human data and infrastructure
- Help define where ELIXIR-UK should invest its attention next
What to expect
This year’s programme is still under preparation, and you can help shape it. Expect a mix of flash talks, interactive panels, world cafés and community-led sessions. Some themes we’re excited to explore include:

Host spotlight: Exeter
We’ll hear from the Exeter team about their work, such as data ethics and the role of Research Software Engineers in infrastructure and research environments.
Contribute to the programme
We want the agenda to reflect the interests and needs of our members. When registering, you’ll have the chance to:
- Submit a poster abstract
- Suggest a topic for discussion
- Indicate interest in giving a short talk or pitch
- Join one of our world café discussions
We especially welcome contributions from those early in their careers or new to ELIXIR-UK.

Places are limited, and priority will be given to participants from ELIXIR-UK member organisations.

Funding support
We have limited travel support available for ELIXIR-UK members with no other means of attending. Priority will be given to early career participants and confirmed speakers. If you would like to be considered, please indicate this during the registration process. Funding decisions will be communicated by 23 September 2025.
The deadline to request funding is 10th September 2025.

Session six: Live conversation – AI in practice: reality, assumptions and reflections
An interactive, conversational session designed to make AI approachable and relevant. We’ll explore how AI is being understood, applied, and questioned in the life sciences, while also connecting to broader societal conversations. The session combines rapid audience interaction with candid panel reflections to spark honest debate and practical takeaways.
