Eva Caamaño Gutiérrez

Dr Eva Caamaño Gutiérrez co-directs the Computational Biology Facility at the University of Liverpool. With over eight years of experience in data science and five years leading a team of data scientists and research software engineers, she manages a complex portfolio of innovative research projects. She is skilled in engaging stakeholders across academic, clinical, and industrial sectors to drive multidisciplinary research and development opportunities.

These efforts have led to significant scientific and impactful outputs, including the development of professional courses that train hundreds of delegates per year in data analysis and programming. Dr Caamaño Gutiérrez is committed to EDIW and leads regional initiatives to support women in data science and promote access to education for disadvantaged groups. Originally from Spain, she holds a degree in Biotechnology and completed an MSc and PhD in Systems Biology at the University of Warwick.
