UK Human Data and Tech Club
Connecting UK human data research infrastructure
Launched in 2023, the Human Data and Tech Club connects the UK human data research infrastructure and technology communities with ELIXIR and other European initiatives. It enables shared solutions, open science and impactful collaboration in health and human data research.
This community, jointly convened by ELIXIR-UK and HDR UK, provides a space for connection and exchange on human and health data research infrastructure and technology in the UK and remains open to all.
It brings together ELIXIR-UK’s experience in life science data infrastructure with perspectives from HDR UK and DARE UK’s health and human data research community and technical innovation.
What to expect
Discover tools, services and infrastructure
Learn about UK and European human data tools, platforms and services that support secure, FAIR and responsible research — including resources developed through ELIXIR, HDR UK and related initiatives.
Connect UK work to European initiatives and beyond
Hear about ongoing European human data activities and infrastructure through ELIXIR, and explore how UK teams can engage, contribute or align with work happening beyond the UK.
Share practice and build connections
Meet others working with human data across research, infrastructure and technology roles. Exchange ideas, compare approaches and discuss shared challenges in a trusted, informal setting.
Influence open and interoperable development
Provide input into human data technology development, helping to shape open practices, standards and interoperable solutions that support the wider research ecosystem.
Contribute to projects and funding opportunities
Identify opportunities to contribute to HDR UK, ELIXIR and European ongoing projects and new grant applications in the context of this community – including chances to shape ideas early and connect with potential collaborators.
Who is this for
This community is for anyone interested in human data in the life sciences at all career stages, whether within ELIXIR-UK or outside. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Technical staff (e.g. data stewards, data custodians, bioinformaticians, software engineers)
- Methodologists (e.g. statisticians, epidemiologists)
- Students of human data subjects in the life sciences
- Researchers
- Trainers and educators
- Health professionals (e.g. clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals)
- Research support teams
